Woodland High School Stadium Project

The Woodland Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees held a special board meeting on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at which the Community Stadium Committee was formed. Moving forward, information regarding this committee and project updates will be posted on this website.

The WJUSD Board of Trustees has set aside a total of $2.5 million for the stadium project. The Board plans to allocate an additional $1.5 million in the 2017-18 school year as funding is available. The District is working with community members to identify the best course of action moving forward.

The Woodland High School Community Stadium Committee met on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017. At the meeting, the committee was presented with information about general timelines and potential costs for a retrofit/salvage process (that would utilize some of the existing infrastructure) and building a new stadium. Based on the fact that the retrofit/salvage process would take longer, and potentially include more unknown costs, the committee voted to make the recommendation to move forward with a new stadium. This recommendation will go to the Board and be discussed at our Sept. 28, 2017 Board Meeting.

The WJUSD Board of Trustees met for the regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 to hear information and discuss a Lease-Leaseback Construction Method for the Woodland High School Stadium presented by Lisa Allred of Atkinson of Andelson, Loya, Rudd & Romo. Brian Meyers of HMC Architects provided the Board with a Woodland High School Stadium Update. Both PowerPoint presentations are provided below.
