- Report injury to supervisor immediately.
- Call the Schools Insurance Authority (SIA) Early Intervention Nurse (our medical triage service provider) at 1-877-742-3467 to report the incident and be evaluated. They will recommend the appropriate medical course of action for you to take.
- Complete the Employee Incident Form and submit to Human Resources even if you are not seeking medical attention.
- If medical attention is required, provide work status reports/updates from your doctor to your supervisor and Human Resources immediately after every doctor's visit.
- If you are released to return to work with or without restrictions, someone from HR will reach out to you to discuss your return to work and any restrictions you may have.
-
- If the District offers an accommodation and you determine you want to remain off of work, you will be required to use your sick leave. If you run out of sick leave you will be paid differential (pay minus the cost of a sub) for a maximum of 100 days.
- We do ask that you arrange treatment before or after your work hours whenever possible. If a physician visit, physical therapy, or testing is required during regular work hours, please let your supervisor know and your own sick leave will be applied to your absence.
-
PLEASE NOTE that in order to best assist you through the course of your work related injury, it is IMPORTANT to actively take part in working and communicating with your worker's compensation examiner, supervisor and Risk Manager.
