Superintendent's Update June 2022

June 2022

June 2022

Headshot of Superintendent Elodia Ortega-Lampkin

Dear WJUSD Families and Community,

The school year has come to an end and despite many challenges we accomplished a lot!

I am so proud of all the great work our students, staff, and administrators have accomplished this year. It was wonderful to see the culmination of their hard work at promotion and graduation ceremonies this month and it was an honor to personally congratulate many of our graduates.

Throughout our district, our students have grown academically, socially, and athletically. From robotics championships to sports victories to spelling bee triumphs, it’s been a year filled with many successes.

We’ve also seen our share of challenges, but no matter what, we always came together as a community to support the social-emotional needs of our students and to be there for each other. I’m very proud of how we came together when times were tough.

So to all our students, and to all our outstanding staff, I congratulate you for your hard work, dedication, and a job well done.

Also, I want to thank our families and community for supporting our students and our schools! We could not have had a great year without you. We rise together and we thrive together.

In that regard, have a relaxing summer, rest up, and we’ll see you in the fall. You earned it.

Respectfully,

Elodia Ortega-Lampkin
Superintendent

The Expanded Learning Program will be available at all our elementary schools, including Gibson, Spring Lake, and Zamora, and will be open to students from transitional kindergarten (TK) to sixth grade.
